A fun but tiny contribution to the National Geographic Society: If you are in D.C. in the very distant year of 2026, you’ll hear one of my rattlesnake recordings coming from a small diorama in the newly reimagined National Geographic Base Camp pavilion.

Contributed sound recordings and sound design to a permanent interactive exhibit “Climate of Hope” which opened November 11, 2023 at the Natural History Museum of Utah; recorded and mixed sounds for an installation called “Hidden Soundscapes” that appeared at Tinworks Gallery in Bozeman from July 8-October 14, 2023; Artist residency with Friends of Pando, July 2022; contributed aspen recordings to “Trembling Giant” by the artist Karine Laval, SOCO Gallery in Charlotte, North Carolina, April - June 2022.
American Praire Reserve
My field recordings can be heard at the American Prairie Reserve’s National Discovery Center and in the 2021 video presentation of the Ken Burns American Heritage Prize.
Natural History Museum of Utah
You can hear my sound design in multiple permanent exhibits at the Natural History Museum of Utah. Recently completed: Sound design for Nature All Around Us, a multi-station exhibit running from October 19, 2019 - May 25, 2020. Upcoming: Sound design for the exhibit Climate of Hope scheduled to open in late 2023.
Sounds of the wild west
I worked closely with the GIS software company ESRI to develop the popular ‘Sounds of the Wild West’ story map.

“The Toads of Trinity: Witnesses to the Atomic Age” appeared on NPR’s “Here and Now” in 2018 (rebroadcast in 2023).

Clients include National Geographic Online, Discovery Channel Canada, Boise Contemporary Theater, National Public Radio and many others. My work has been featured in many media outlets, including the LA Times and Outside magazine. In 2017, many of my recordings appeared in the film Walking Out, starring Matt Bomer and Bill Pullman.

Many of my recordings appear in the best-selling smartphone app Mammals of North America from Princeton University Press. Other publications include sounds for the children's ebook "My Water Comes from the Rocky Mountains" by Taylor Trade Publishing.
